Mepps Walleye Kit

World-class walleye fishermen have long known the benefits of fishing with Mepps lures. Walleyes are nocturnal by nature, but don't be fooled into thinking that's the only good time to fish for them. The color of the water greatly influences their feeding habits.

Many lakes are dark. Midday is a great time to fish for walleyes in these waters. From a boat, anchor on either side of a channel and cast your line. Walleyes feed primarily on the bottom, but don't overlook fish suspended over drop-offs in deep lakes. Suspended walleye fishing sometimes offers the best opportunities in summer.
